Gareth Edwards of Assembly Solutions in Bolton has completed 10 Years Service.
Gareth joined award winning manufacturing company ASL in 2004 as an agency worker, and 12 months later was taken on their books after proving himself as a great team player and showing a natural passion for electrical manufacturing.
Since joining ASL Gareth has be involved in many of ASL’s large projects including; telemetry control panel manufacture for united utilities, cctv cable assemblies for the highways, and electric vehicle wiring harnesses for bus manufacturer Optare, based in Leeds.
Over the years Gareth has built on his knowledge for manufacturing, completing courses including; Business Improvement Techniques, CAD, IPC A-620 cable assembly and wiring harness certification.
In February 2015 Gareth was promoted from Cell Leader to Section Manager, where he is now responsible for managing the production of ASL’s electrical control panels and box build.
On receipt of his award Gareth commented ‘How the years have flown by and what an incredible journey it’s been. The company has changed massively in the last 10 years. When I joined ASL in 2004 we were working from small units in Gilnow Mill on Spa Road. Now, we have our own large brand new purpose built factory and I’m extremely proud to have been a main player in the company’s growth and success.‘
Graham Balshaw, MD of ASL commented ‘It is fantastic to have another member of staff achieve this landmark of 10 year’s service. It is even more satisfying to see another young person join the company and work their way up from the shop floor as Gareth has done, to his current position as a Senior Manager.‘
