Created in October 1995 by Owner/MD Graham Balshaw, he had a dream to build and run one of the best manufacturing companies in the UK.

Starting from a small rented unit with a couple of work benches at Bolton Enterprise Centre, ASL has steadily grown into a £3M turnover company owning their own large 32,000sqft factory ‘Terence House’.

Graham Balshaw MD commented ‘Reaching 20 years is a great milestone and I am very proud of what we have achieved becoming a successful award winning company. I have built up some very good friendships with customers and suppliers over the years and very much appreciate those relationships, not to mention our fantastic team at ASL who continue to support our family values of trust and integrity. Business doesn’t get any easier you just have to get on with it and face the new problems and challenges with the same level of energy and determination that got us through our first 20 years.’

In the early days ASL was set up for cable assembly manufacture, creating electrical wiring assemblies only. Now 20 years on, ASL boast a wide electrical wiring assembly range of products and services including wire preparation, cable assemblies, wiring harness, wiring loom, and electrical control panels.

After 10 years in business, ASL took on the challenge of expanding their electrical wiring experience and created a control panel department. Now classed as a UK leading manufacturer for electrical control panels, ASL supply custom made control panels for the Security, Highways, Utility and Nuclear Industry.

ASL have 50 staff and are currently on target to reach £3.1M in 2015, with a future outlook to reach £5M by 2018 and £10M by 2022.
